Buddies4Math students will enjoy new Common Core-aligned games and instructional materials in addition to new classroom supplies after Program Director Eric Foster won an $850 government grant to supplement existing materials at Buddies4Math. The funds have been used to purchase a variety of new items for the program, ranging from whiteboards, pens, and erasers to new math games and Common Core curriculum packs. Students will be excited to hear that 8% of the grant went toward new prizes for the biannual Math Carnival.
We are excited to use these new supplies in the classroom to increase student learning and engagement (as well as make progress with the new Common Core State Standards in math) but are also excited by this additional validation of our program’s success. We are honored and grateful to be receiving this large amount of support. The new supplies will be on hand when Buddies4Math opens for the fall session next week — see you soon!
